Can We Talk???
We all know people who really know how to use the English language. They say the right things, make situations better, and generally improve the mood of those involved in the conversation. On the other side, we all know people who talk constantly and say nothing and others who always seem to find the wrong word to say at the wrong time.
It seems that there are a lot of people who just don’t understand how to talk. They don’t understand the need to choose their words carefully or know when to stop talking and listen. They don’t understand that a conversation requires one person talking and the other listening.
Customer service is more than saying the right things at the right time. sure, it is important to choose your words carefully and say the right things at the right time, but it is also important to listen to what the other party is saying as well. By listening as carefully as you do when you are speaking, you can gain a lot of information about what the other party is looking for in that particular conversation.
Talking is a skill we all need to master and it is important to understand that talking is more than saying the word, it is choosing the right words and listening at the right times.
